Great to welcome more new players to the casual Friday night Swiss Tournaments at the Yelf's hotel. No Chess on Friday 22nd Dec due to Xmas break, returns Friday 29th Dec.
We are also going to update the start time of the Friday session to 6pm, this should allow people to use the free parking on Union street. Playing 10+2 Rapid should allow for 5 rounds between 6.30pm and 8.30pm.
Well done to Clive Bowley who won with 4 from 4 and takes home the IOW Chess mug. Clive will be one to watch out for in the full day event on Saturday Jan 20th in the main function room at the Yelf's.
Great to welcome 3 new players to the evening, Vassos, Lukas and Pirakash. We have around 20 players now who have come at different times. After the break we will hopefully be able to host regular fun tournaments of 10 or so players and allow for competitive play while people can monitor their performance growth.
