We played ECF rated Blitz at the Yelf's Hotel in Ryde on Friday 9th August. Ten strong players took part and Harry Vernon emerged victorious.
Harry on the right being presented the trophy by his final round opponent Alex Short.
Harry won the latest edition of Chess Magazine, (featuring an excellent IOW design on page 13), plus an IOW made T shirt and the all important chance to hold the Ryde trophy for 30 seconds haha.
These games are ECF Blitz rated and give players a chance to track their progress as they gain/lose rating over time.

Casual chess returns again at the Yelf's Hotel next and every Friday, using longer clock controls, usually 10 to 15 mins each. We will try to have one rated Blitz night per month. Follow us on socials to be the first to know.
