The Isle of Wight International will take place between 18th and 23rd Feb 2025. We are giving players a chance to win free entry into the Masters + free accommodation and boat travel to the Island.
To win this the player must win our 7 round Blitz tournament which starts at 8pm on Monday 12th August on Lichess. Once in the International you have a chance to win some of the £4,000 prize pool and there are norm chances available.
This prize is valued over £600 depending on the rating of the player. It will be valid if over 30 players take part in the Lichess tournament.
If we do not get x30 players the tournament will repeat every Monday at 8pm until we do.
Should a player, who is already entered into the 2025 event win, they will win be refunded and still win the prize. If the player has conditions they will win a free IOW T Shirt and the prize will roll down to the next player.
1st Place
Free entry to the Masters 18 - 23 Feb 2025 + Hotel 17th to 24th Feb + Boat Travel
(You just need to get to Portsmouth Harbour).
If the winner holds a FIDE Classical rating under 1600, they will be given the option to either play in the U2000 or a suitable Congress section and your hotel will be valid for less days.
Additionally the winner will get free entry to both Blitz events at the tournament and a 1 hour lesson with a GM at the event.
2nd Place
Free entry to the IOW International based on what the player qualifies for on rating. Accommodation not included.
3rd Place
50% entry to the IOW International based on what the player qualifies for on rating. Accommodation not included.
